One kind of work, done for one reason
Make It Livable DC builds for aging in place and takes on nothing else. Our customers are older homeowners and the sons, daughters and spouses who worry about them.
Doing one kind of work keeps every visit on a single question. Is this house still safe for the person who wakes up in it each morning?
The walk comes before any work
It starts with the Livability Assessment. We go room by room, from the front steps to the shower to the basement stairs, and write down each danger we find.
The report ranks those dangers and puts each fix beside its problem, so the family can see what to do first. You keep that report whether you hire us or not.
A price in writing before a tool comes out
You see the cost before anyone starts. Pick a fix from the report and it comes back with a written scope and a fixed price.
The scope spells out what gets built. The price is set before a crew is scheduled, so the decision stays with you, and nothing gets added later without your signature.
Our own crews, from the first bar to the last ramp
The company that walks your house is the company that does the work. Our own background-checked crews install the bars, build the ramps and turn a downstairs den into a bedroom.
Once the big fixes are in, the Livable Plan can keep the house checked with scheduled visits and a photo report for the family.
What we will never be
We are a construction company. Home care, aides and medical treatment are outside our work, and we don't act as a home care agency.
We also never pass your name to other vendors or sell your number. The family that hires us is the only one we answer to.
The homes we serve
We work across Washington, DC, suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia. Houses within 30 miles of the US Capitol sit inside our area.
If you're unsure about your street, the service area checker answers it from your ZIP code.
